Some kind of bouncer is definitely a must while raising a child. It is a huge help for parents, who can have their baby around in every part of a house, without thinking where to put it. Usually bouncers have some kind of toys or activities, so that a baby could be entertained. And this means some extra time on your hands to do things. Every baby is different but they all love attention. There are times when baby is used to getting it all the time and parents don’t even have time to have some breakfast. Which was exactly what happened for us.

I did a lot of research about bouncers and tried to find the best one. In Europe Babybjorn is really popular brand. I’ve read a lot of great reviews about their bouncers so decided to get one.

I really liked the idea of this bouncer. It rocks naturally, without any batteries. Also, it’s suitable for newborns (minimum weight 8 lbs/3.5 kg) and the seller declares it can be used up until the age of two. This bouncer also has three different positions for your baby to be comfortable.

This bouncer also has an attachable toys made out of wood, but you need to buy them separately. At first we used this bouncer as a resting chair for the baby. It was really convenient, because I could put my baby girl in it and take a shower or do other stuff. This bouncer is really lightweight so it wasn’t difficult to move it around the house or even take with me in a car. You know when you go at your friend’s or family’s house with a newborn baby and there is no suitable space to put your baby. In these cases you need something small and lightweight to take with you and this Babybjorn bouncer was a true life saver.

When my baby girl got a little bigger, she started bouncing and playing with the wooden toys. I could tell that she was entertained and enjoyed her time in a bouncer. At about 6 months, we started introducing her real food and we used this bouncer as a chair to feed her. We already had the Ikea baby chair, but at that point she wasn’t sitting stable enough, so that was a good option. Of course, some food would always end up on a bouncer, but the whole fabric can be taken off and washes easily.

From that 6 months time I noticed that she would spend less and less time in her bouncer. She just seemed more interested in other toys. My daughter started crawling ant about 8 months and that’s when we said good bey to this bouncer. She just didn’t want to sit in one place. At that age baby can crawl through the room, take any toy sit up and play, so it natural that sitting in one plays with the same toy is not that entertaining. I really don’t know how a two year old can enjoy spending time in this bouncer…

To sum up I noticed these pros:

  • Lightweight;
  • 3 different positions;
  • Removable and washable fabric;
  • Easy to take with you while traveling;
  • Can be used as am eating chair;
  • Requires no batteries;
  • Bounces from baby’s movement, naturally so does no harm for the baby (like there are some opinions about vibrating chairs).

And some cons:

  • Suitable till 8 months (at least in our case);
  • The toy needs to be bought separately;
  • The price (there are definitely some cheaper options)

Here is the link to amazon, where you can check this bouncer for yourself 🙂

All in all I think it’s a good purchase, but only if you have some extra money to splurge (for example invest in two different bouncers). In other cases, if you’re on a budget, there are definitely some cheaper options.
