Chunky knit blankets are all over the internet. I have to admit, that they look incredible so I was very excited when I got one as a present from my dear friend. She made this beauty herself and brought it to me as a baby welcoming present. I couldn’t be happier. Still, I really wanted to do a review type of articles for other moms ar just people who are thinking of it as a present for baby. In photos on Instagram everything seems so perfect but you can’t really tell, wether it’s a good purchase or not. So today I’m ready to spill the beans for everyone out there.

Advantages:

I have to say, that these chunky knit blankets look incredible. Especially in photos. We used to take monthly photos of our baby girl to see her grow, and this blanket was perfect for it. We used it in professional photo shoot also, and the photos were just amazing.

Depending on a size, there are many ways to use it.

Disadvantages:

The wool catches all the dust and dirt. I have to say that I consider myself pretty good at keeping my house clean, but every time I would put this blanket on the ground to take a photo of my baby, I could see, that every little peace of dirt would get on it. That was just frustrating.

Also, I just can’t imagine how to wash it. In my opinion there is no way to do it and with babies this is kind of a bummer.

When your baby gets older and starts grabbing things, this blanket is not that easy to use. My little one used to pull the wool so hard, that in some time it didn’t look presentable at all.

All in all I have to say, that this blanket is super cute, but just not for every day use. If you have the money to splurge and really want it – it’s nice to have, but be sure, that you won’t be able to use it on every day basis.

I hope this post will help you to decide, wether it’s worth your money or not. If it was me, I really wouldn’t buy it for my next baby. In my opinion it’s not worth the money, because there are some many good quality blankets in the market that will last for ages.
