Waking up every two hours to feed and change your baby might be really exhausting. Every mom out there looks forward to the time, when a baby starts sleeping longer periods of time, especially at night. Our baby girl was pretty good with sleep from the beginning. At night time she would go at least 4 or 5 hours without feeds, and that was amazing. Still, we had a problem with putting her to sleep. Every time there was time for her to go to sleep, we needed to rock her on arms for about ten minutes. This might not seem the worst thing ever, but sometimes when I would put her in a crib, she immediately woke up, and then I had to rock her for another ten minutes hoping that this time she wouldn’t wake up. At that time I knew that we did something wrong and after researching I decided to buy a baby mobile. Fisher-Price products had great reviews so I went with this choice.
A little about the baby mobile. It works with batteries, attaches to the crib very easily. There were six different melodies, nature sounds, and of course lights. I also really liked that there was a remote control which made it easier to turn the music on from a distance. The one thing I found was very inconvenient – I couldn’t turn on baby mobile lights without the melody. Maybe every baby mobile works like that, I’m not sure, but I would like to have that option.
When we started using this baby mobile, she started to fall asleep quicker. She would actually spend time in her crib listening to music and watching toys turning around. Also when I felt that she was waking up at night, I would turn the music on and she went to sleep again. All in all, I was very happy with the purchase and totally recommend it to you.
In my other post about how to get your baby to sleep through the night, I was talking about routine anf following it up every night. This baby mobile would be a great addition to that routine. This will let your baby know, that it is time for night sleep and you want to teach your baby that as soon as possible.
If your baby isn’t sleeping through the night, try different things and just be patient, it will all change sooner than you might think.
